ESG Environmental Social and Governance

Leading a metalworking company means facing, every day, the complexity of a sector that brings together tradition, technical expertise, and a constant drive for improvement.

For me, this role is not only an industrial responsibility: it is a cultural mission.

Being a woman at the helm of a company like Trenton means demonstrating that even in a historically rooted industry like ours, innovation and sustainability can become the true sources of competitive strength.

Today, our industrial vision is interwoven with a concrete and structured ESG journey.

Starting this year, we have launched the SME Sustainability Assessment (VSME), an initiative that allows us to objectively measure the environmental, social, and governance impact of our activities.

This step marks the beginning of a transformation we want to make tangible: more efficient processes, responsible energy use, emissions reduction, the enhancement of people, and transparent management.

Trenton was founded over forty years ago in Emilia-Romagna, a land of manufacturing excellence and ingenuity.

Today, we continue to produce high-engineering steel and cast-iron components, but with a renewed awareness: every production choice must create not only economic value, but also environmental and social value.

For this reason, we invest in clean technologies, continuous improvements in workplace safety, the development of internal skills, and projects that strengthen the bond between industry and the local community.

We believe that sustainability is not a destination, but a shared path of growth.

Our goal is to build a future in which industrial excellence and environmental responsibility move forward together, with the same determination and rigor that have always distinguished Trenton.

Sustainability & ESG

At Trenton, we integrate ESG principles into our industrial processes as a strategic driver of competitiveness and risk management. For us, sustainability is not merely a regulatory requirement, but a core pillar of our business model.

In 2025, we launched voluntary sustainability reporting in accordance with the VSME (Voluntary Sustainability Reporting Standard for SMEs) to:

  • align our corporate governance with leading European standards;

  • ensure transparency for customers, partners, and financial stakeholders;

  • anticipate regulatory developments and their impact across the supply chain.

Regulatory Readiness

Our adoption of VSME reflects a proactive approach to an evolving regulatory landscape, including:

  • CSRD – Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive, extending sustainability reporting obligations across Europe;

  • ESRS – European Sustainability Reporting Standards, defining common ESG indicators and metrics;

  • the growing focus on sustainability due diligence, strengthening accountability along the value chain;

  • increasingly stringent regulations on energy efficiency, emissions, materials traceability, and waste management.

Through VSME, we are already building a structured internal system capable of supporting future mandatory ESG reporting.

Environmental Performance

We maintain full control over the main environmental drivers of our production activities through continuous monitoring of:

  • Energy consumption and energy intensity per unit of product;

  • Greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 1 and Scope 2, with progressive integration of Scope 3);

  • Materials management (steel, cast iron, and alloys traceability);

  • Water use, including withdrawal, discharge, and process efficiency;

  • Waste management, with monitoring by type, recovery rates, and regulatory compliance.

Social Responsibility & People

Our people-centered approach is built on three key pillars:

  • Workplace safety, supported by continuous monitoring, preventive actions, and investments in advanced protection systems;

  • Training and skills development, for both technical and managerial roles;

  • Inclusion and equal opportunities, promoted through internal initiatives such as Bee Different, gender equality programs, fairness, and engagement with the local community.

Our Commitment

VSME reporting represents the foundation of a robust, scalable ESG system fully integrated into our operations. It strengthens our supply chain, supports our customers’ compliance needs, and prepares us for upcoming European sustainability regulations.

Our commitment is clear: transparency, reliability, and continuous improvement.
